I am the Web Master and Program Desinger for the Fantasy Racin' League. How did I get involved in all of this? Well, I was approached by a friend of mine about doing a fantasy NASCAR league. The idea sounded great. It was going to be eight of us going head to head for the whole season. Hugh and Walt took charge of getting everything set up. The decided how many teams we would have, how many drivers each team could have, and how we were going to keep up with what was what. About a week before the season started we all got together for the big event...Draft Day. Here it was one week before the Daytona 500 and we were about to put stock into the 4 drivers we thought would be suited best together. We all picked our teams and everyone seemed pretty happy with the out come. I decided to find out a little more about how we were going to keep up with the points through out the season. Walt explained that they would take the points each driver had for the season after each event and fax it to everyone so they knew where they stood. This sounded like a good idea but I began to get a little obsessed about the whole fantasy thing and I decided to see if I couldn't srpuce it up a little. I designed a spread sheet that would allow us to enter the finishing positions for each driver and it would calculate the points earned for the race, then it would keep a running total for the season. It was decent but I wanted more. After about a month of working on this thing I finally got it where I wanted it. Everything was just right execpt for one thing, no one could take advantage of it but me. I tried emailing updates to Hugh but as the season progressed the files got larger and larger and this became time consuming. So what was I to do? Create a Web Site. And here we are about a third of the way through the season and I am starting all over again. Hopefully this will satisfy my desire to keep everyone up to date on what is going on (until football season).Well I know that if you read all of that you are probably bored out of your mind, oh well !!!!! :)
